Visar Morina

Born in Pristina, Kosovo. After working as an assistant in theaters, on films and in television, Visar studied direction and screenplay writing at the Academy of Media Arts, Cologne. His debut BABAI (2015) premiered at the Munich International Film Festival 2015 in the "New German Cinema" section, where he received prizes for Best Director, Best Screenplay, Best Actor and the "One Future Award." The film was subsequently invited to numerous international festivals such as Karlovy Vary, Angers, Busan, Haifa, São Paulo, Thessaloniki, et al., where it won further awards such as Best Director and the European Cinemas Label Award in Karlovy Vary, and the Best Film and Best Screenplay awards at the Bosphorus International Film Festival. BABAI was nominated for the European Film Award 2015 in the "Discoveries" section.
