Ramon Zürcher

Born in Aarberg, Switzerland. Ramon studied arts at the HKB Hochschule der Künste in Bern from 2002 to 2005, and went on to study directing at the DFFB-Deutsche Film- und Fernsehakademie in Berlin from 2006 to 2013. His debut feature "The strange little cat" had its world premiere at the Berlinale Forum in 2013 and was consequently shown at many international film festivals such as Toronto, Cannes, Viennale, New Directors/New Films and received numerous awards as e.g. New Talent Grand PIX Award at CPH:PIX, Special Jury Prize for Best Debut at the Minsk International Film Festival Listapad, the SIYAD Filmcritic’s Prize at the Antalya International Film Festival and the "Standard"-Audience Jury Award at the Viennale. The debut had its theatrical release in Germany with Peripher Filmverleih, as well as in Austria, Switzerland, France and North-America, and won three noiminations at the German Film Critics Awards.
