Anna Sofie Hartmann

Born in Nakskov, Denmark. Anna Sofie studied at the European Film College in Aarhus in 2014 for 8 months. After moving to Berlin she documented the live and work process in Olafur Eliasson’s artist studio. In 2008 Anna Sofie started studying directing at the DFFB-Deutsche Film- und Fernsehakademie in Berlin. After making several short films, she premiered her first feature film "Limbo" at the 2014 edition of the San Sebastián International Film Festival in the New Directors section and was invited to numerous festivals, including Rotterdam, South by South West (SXSW) and Gothenburg, where it received high praise and was subsequently nominated for the European Film Academy’s Discovery Award 2015. "Limbo" received the Preis des Verbands der deutschen Filmkritik at the Achtung-Berlin Festival. In Germany, Peripher organized the film’s cinema release.
